Asphalt driveways

Asphalt driveway paving for long drives and acreage entrances.

Iron Ridge is a commercial-first contractor, and driveways are the residential side of that work: long rural drives, acreage entrances and larger residential properties, with base preparation and a pavement section chosen for the actual traffic and conditions.

01

Where our driveway work fits

Driveway requests often involve long drives in, ranch entrances, and replacements where an existing driveway has failed and needs real base work, not a skim coat. Commercial and rural work comes first, and driveway projects are scheduled around it.

That is also why residential clients get a commercial process: proper subgrade, compacted base, correct thickness for the vehicles that use it, and drainage handled before paving rather than after.

02

A driveway is a small road

Driveways fail for the same reasons roads do: soft subgrade, thin base, water sitting against the edges. Edges need support, the surface needs slope to shed water, and heavy vehicles like refuse trucks concentrate loads at the same few points every week.

For long rural drives, chip seal is sometimes the better value than full-depth asphalt. It depends on the length, the traffic and the look the property owner wants.
